Harmon Field Stream Restoration
Posted on July 22nd, 2019
Green River Quarry recently supplied the Town of Tryon on a stream restoration. The project was at Harmon Field along the North Pacolet River. There will be signage along the trail educating people about the benefits of projects like these.
The project is bounded by the boulders set along the paved path and the North Pacolet River. Part of the restoration of the North Pacolet River at Harmon Field include establishment of native vegetation along the river in most areas of the park. This project was made possible through grant funding and donations provided by the North Carolina Division of Environmental Quality-Water Resources Development Grant Program, The Town of Tryon, Quible & Associates, P.C. and Material Sales Company, Inc. Buncombe County Fire Department Trench Refresher Training
Posted on May 24th, 2019
Over a three-day period in May, Hedrick Industries had the opportunity to partner with the Buncombe County Fire Department in providing space for important training sessions. Approximately 75 Fire Fighters gathered at a Hedrick property adjacent to North Buncombe Quarry in Weaverville, North Carolina for a “trench refresher course”. The purpose of the course was to refresh Fire Fighters on procedures associated with collapsed trenches (most commonly, during installation of utility lines). Hedrick Industries is always proud to be a part of these important programs that help keep our communities and our first responders safe.
