Hedrick Industries Supplies Greenbrier AdvoCare Sports Performance Center
Posted on June 29th, 2015
Last summer, Piedmont Sand Company – Hedrick Industries’ sand location in Pageland, SC– supplied approximately 30,000 tons of screened fill sand to The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulfur Spring, West Virginia. The sand furnished the resort’s high quality athletic fields at the AdvoCare Sports Performance center, home of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints preseason training camp. Anthony Arnold, Officer at Material Sales Company, the sales agent for all of Hedrick Industries’ aggregate locations, commented on the project with pride: “We occasionally participate in some cool projects that ‘make us proud.’”
The practice facility, which was built in 90 days, includes three practice fields (two natural turf and one synthetic grass) and a 55,000-square-foot multi-purpose building with meeting rooms, weight rooms, locker rooms, training and physical therapy accommodations, and kitchen and dining facilities.
The owner of The Greenbrier Resort, Jim Justice, is thrilled about the expansion project and the partnership as a whole: “It took a lot of work to make this a reality, and it’s unbelievable. It’s a beautiful facility, and we’re out of our minds excited to have the Saints in West Virginia.” When the Saints come to town for their annual practices, football fans in White Sulphur line the streets to welcome the team. Fans are also invited to picnic with players and coaches, to tour the AdvoCare Sports Performance Center, and to spectate at any of the practices. All 27 practices and 1 full scrimmage are open to the public free of charge. With their practice field in West Virginia, the Saints can get out of the New Orleans’ heat. In return, the impact the team will have on economic growth and positive exposure is huge for the state of West Virginia. Hedrick Industries is proud to be a player in this partnership. Win-win.
